OnePlus 3 was launched a couple of months back and the device has been selling fairly well since its launch in the global market. A very interesting rumour had very recently cropped up that a new OnePlus device has been spotted on GFXBench and considering the spec-sheet of the device, the tech pundits took no time in branding it the OnePlus 3 Mini.
Rumors stated that the OnePlus 3 Mini sports a smaller 4.6-inch screen and apart from this, the rest of the specifications were identical to that of the OnePlus 3. The GFXBench showed the alleged device with the similar 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor under the hood coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM. Other features include an inbuilt storage of 64GB and running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. In the camera department too, the handset had the same 16MP rear and 8MP front camera configuration.
However, all these rumours of the OnePlus 3 Mini have been put to rest as the OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has just officially confirmed that there is no Mini or compact version of the OnePlus 3 in work right now and all of these stories were just false. Commenting on one such wild story, he tweeted through his official handle saying, “No. #rumorshutdown”.

If the users would recall, soon after the launch of OnePlus 2 last year a similar device was spotted and everyone thought it to be the OnePlus 2 Mini. However, it wasn’t so as the device turned out to be the OnePlus X. Although there isn’t any OnePlus 3 Mini in works, but this device very possibly might be the next OnePlus X device. Well, these are just stories and speculations for now, so do take this with a pinch of salt and wait until something concrete turns up.
