OnePlus 2 devices started receiving OxygenOS 3.5.5 update, which brings lots of new stuff to the OnePlus 2 owners. The phone finally supports VoLTE calls with the update, but the update doesn’t bring Android Nougat.
VoLTE calls will work for some carriers, but the company didn’t publish a list with supported carriers. OnePlus India announced VoLTE support in September, noticing users that VoLTE calls will work for Reliance Jio carrier. The update is shipping in phases so not all owners will receive it at the start. A broader rollout will commence in coming days.
Aside from bringing VoLTE support, the update ships with App Lock, Battery Saving Mode, Gaming Mode, new Alert Slider options, and a new Volume Adjustment Bar, as well with small updates, an interface redesign, and some bug fixes and optimizations. Although OxygenOS 3.5.5 update doesn’t bring Android Nougat 7.0 it comes with an updated Android security patch (updated to December 1).
Clock, Calculator and Messages apps will be replaced with stock OnePlus apps after the update, in case you never updated matching Google apps. Users have a choice to download Google stock apps after the update finishes installing. Further, the update will reset a lot of configurations as well as the device name, battery bar indicator, accent colors, and ringtones.
