Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL became one of the first smartphones after the Xiaomi Mi 4 and some select Lumia handsets to support Windows 10 Mobile build. If the reports are to be believed, Microsoft is planning to expand it coverage and is aiming at many devices. Few of the notable devices are OnePlus 2 and Xiaomi Mi 5.

The Windows 10 Mobile build was released for Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL on Wednesday. Currently only devices like Lumia 950 XLLumia 950Lumia 550 and Lumia 650 which had been shipped with the Windows 10 Mobile have received this build.

Android users can also have a taste of the Windows 10 Mobile build if the reports are to be believed. A report claims that Microsoft is working on developing Windows 10 Mobile ROM for devices like OnePlus 2, Xiaomi Mi 5, and the upcoming OnePlus 3.

It won’t be something new for Microsoft as it had earlier partnered with Xiaomi for the launch of the Windows 10 Mobile build on its 2014 flagship device Mi 4. Xiaomi had made the ROM publicly available in China for its Mi 4 users in December.

The recent moves from Microsoft suggest its slow recline from the manufacturing business. It seems quite a smart move on the part of Microsoft to offer its mobile build to Android manufacturers. Android users will now have the option to try out Windows 10 Mobile build without losing any data on their phone. Microsoft has already more than 70 Android OEM partners and hopefully, this will pan out as they have wished.
