Over the course of the past few weeks, UMi’s next-generation budget flagship UMi Plus has deservedly remained in the limelight owing to its fame as the next-generation budget flagship from one of the fastest-growing smartphone manufacturers in the world.
We already knew what the device would look like – courtesy, a set of leaked images, followed by teaser images released by UMi. However, one thing that potential buyers and anticipating observers were missing out on was a display of the device in action. On Sep 28, UMi took care of that aspect too by releasing a short, official unboxing video of the UMi Plus. [You can watch the embedded video below on this page.]
The device, which according to the company, carries a premium build quality while keeping an affordable price, also happens to be the first Android N smartphone in the world to be powered by the MediaTek Helio P10.
The move is indeed admirable considering that probably not too many other contemporary mid-range devices will get to see Android Nougat in the foreseeable future.
Key specs of UMi Plus include Helio P10 Octa Core SoC, 4GB RAM, a 4,000 mAh battery, PE+ fast charging technology, 13MP Samsung PDAF camera, ultra-high color saturation Sunlight display (previously seen in a select few models of Xiaomi and Meizu), and more.
UMi Plus is still available at a heavily discounted price of $179.99. The pre-sale offer will remain only for a day more (till Sept 30) before the phone returns to its regular price.
