After being away from the mobile phone market for a long time, Nokia is all set to get back to making phones. The deal between Microsoft and Nokia that did not allow the latter to make any smartphones has now ended, thus making Nokia free to manufacture smartphones. In case you don’t know, the agreement was to end in second half of 2016, and we are way past in July now.
A lot of rumors about the upcoming Nokia smartphone, allegedly named as Nokia C1, are making rounds on the internet. So let’s gather all the information we have into one place and see what exciting features the phone is going to offer.
Note: Please remember that all the information given here is based on rumors and we don’t claim any of this to be true. We are sure that some new information will come out soon, so till then, these speculations are just for keeping the readers up to date with what’s happening in the smartphone community.
Nokia C1 Specs
Many reports have claimed that the Nokia C1 will be an Android smartphone with a custom UI on it. It will be powered by a Snapdragon processor, probably the Snapdragon 652. The phone is said to be coming in two different variants- one with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and other one will get 3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage.
As for the camera, the Nokia C1 might be seen flaunting a 13MP AF camera with LED flash at the rear and a 5MP front camera. The battery that will power the phone will be a non-removable one going by the industry standard, but it will be a really great move if the company decides to surprise us by giving a removable battery.
Nokia C1 Features
The Nokia C1 is rumored to get a full metal body, which is the trend nowadays. It might also come with a fingerprint sensor on it. We expect the rear camera to get Carl Zeiss optics like Nokia has used before.
Also, it is being said that the C1 will come in an Android as well as a Windows Phone variant, though this would be an unlikely step from Nokia.
Nokia C1 Release Date and Price
There have been hardly any leaks about the phone, and the rumors say that we should expect the Nokia C1 to be launched around the second half of this year or a bit later. The expected price tag for the phone is around $300-$350.
Nokia is now owned by a company named HMD that has been founded to give a new independent and focussed home to Nokia-branded smartphones, tablets, and feature phones. Nokia wearables may also be seen in the market. HMD has planned to invest $500 million to market the upcoming Nokia phones and tablets globally for the next three years. The brand “Nokia” has a strong history and fan following, and with the right direction and effort, the brand can definitely make an exciting comeback in the market. Will the Nokia Android phones be good? Definitely! Will they be a massive hit? Only time will tell.
