Nintendo is looking strong this year, which happens to be the 20th anniversary year for the Pokémon franchise as well. Most notably, this will be the year Nintendo releases the Nintendo NX console. Supposedly, reliable rumours point towards The Legend of Zelda Wii U releasing on both the current-gen Wii U console and the next-gen NX.
We expect to see the title – and more details about the Nintendo NX platform at this year’s E3.
Meanwhile, The Pokémon Company has announced a new game, this one for mobile platforms. Titled Pokémon Co-Master, it is a free-to-play game that combines capturing Pokémon with the strategy of classic board games like Chess or Go. The game is being developed by Japanese company Heroz, but no further details about the project have been released so far.
Finally, the NX’s impending release for late 2016 is looking stronger than ever, with a number of rumours corroborating a Holiday 2016 release. According to certain rumours, the NX will also feature an HDMI TV dongle, among other features. Apart from insider leaks, we also have a report from manufacturer Foxconn Technology stating that they will be producing NX units this year.
