Nintendo NX is set to come out in March 2017 and will be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra mobile processor. It will also have its own operating system and not a version of Android as previously stated. According to Eurogamer, NX will be a portable, handheld console with detachable controllers. It will function as a high-powered handheld console with its own display. The screen will be bookended by two controller sections on either side, which can be attached or detached as required. A base unit, or dock station, is used to connect the brain of the NX – within the controller – to display on your TV.

During an interview with Alist, Nintendo President Reggie assured that the console will have a huge library of games and might even include the upcoming Zelda game. Regarding E3 2016, Reggie said that introducing the NX didn’t align with the company’s strategy.

“For us, it’s all about the right communication at the right time. We believe we’ve got some games that are going to continue to drive our momentum this holiday, and we believe we’ve got a strong concept for NX that we’ll unveil in the future.”

He also said that the release of Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles will have no effect on NX’s launch.

“Nintendo has a quite appropriate reputation of doing its own thing, so whatever Microsoft and Sony decide to do, that’s for them to manage.”

There is still no confirmation about the exact release date nor that what games will arrive on it. However, there’s a huge chance that Pokemon Sun and Moon, Ever Oasis, Mario Party Rush and Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild will be included. There’s also rumors of the popular mobile game Pokemon GO being included in the line-up as well. Other games like Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing might also come to the new console.
