It looks like Nintendo is gaining confidence that their part of the forthcoming E3 2017 presentation will be full of surprises and delight.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Amie assured that the company has big announcements to make when E3 begins later this year in June. He stated that Nintendo has been preoccupied working on future big ideas, as in new IPs, for the new platform. This encompasses new titles for both the 3DS and the Switch.
Note that at the time when the interview took place (March 14), Nintendo was still setting new U.S. sales records for its new console which, in turn, could pave the way for new big opportunities at E3 2017.
Worth noting, Nintendo can not boast much variety in its game portfolio. Perhaps it won’t be an oversimplification to state that the bulk of its games are primarily targeted toward gamers of younger ages. So far, Super Mario is perhaps the most iconic title coming from the Japanese giant. So, is there any chance that we could see the company venturing out of its comfort zone, thereby adding more variety to its portfolio?
Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer to that. Reggie Fils-Amie did not disclose any specific as to what we should expect to see during Nintendo’s presentation at E3 2017. However, we reckon it’s safe to assume that the Nintendo Switch will remain at the center of the company’s agenda. Moreover, with the arrival of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it’s going to be pretty hard for almost anyone to top Link’s much-anticipated adventure.
“I’m not gonna tell you all of the various games and all of our little secrets for E3, but I can tell you that E3 is going to be a major opportunity for us to showcase not only Nintendo Switch but also content coming to Nintendo 3DS,” Reggie stated, as reported by Inquisitr.
