Android 6.0 Marshmallow was released months ago, and many manufacturers have already updated a lot of their eligible flagships to the latest firmware. However, the harsh truth is that many deserving devices are still running on Android Lollipop and are waiting for their Marshmallow updates, especially for those devices purchased through U.S. carriers. For instance, the HTC One M9 Marshmallow update will be coming to Verizon and T-Mobile on 16th February.

But let’s talk about Verizon, who has been quite slow to roll out the latest Android 6.0 update. Users of the carrier’s Motorola DROID Turbo 2 are still on Android 5.1 and are awaiting Marshmallow desperately. Well folks, the wait is over. The DROID Turbo 2 Marshmallow update has finally been rolled out by Verizon and is slowly reaching all the devices. If you haven’t received the update notification yet, be patient, you’ll get it soon. If you are too impatient, you can manually check for the update by going to the Software Update section in Settings.

The new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will bring quite a lot of new features to the DROID Turbo 2. You will get Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, App standby, new app permissions system, improved Do Not Disturb Mode, adoptable storage, Attentive Display in Moto Actions, Direct share, and expanded volume controls. Some new Moto Assist functions are also expected. The Android 6.0.1 update will reach Motorola devices in a few months.
