The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 was first released earlier last month by Verizon. However, due to unknown reasons, the carrier halted the roll-out shortly thereafter and also pulled the update details from the official Verizon website. Fast forward to yesterday, we reported that the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Android 6.0 Marshmallow soak test had begun. And today, the update has been released finally for the public.

The software update page on Verizon’s official website is live again. As stated by the carrier, the Marshmallow update for the Droid Turbo 2 will start rolling out to all the units on the network on March 1st, that’s today. The roll-out will be released in two parts. The first one will take up the software version number to 23.31.24 and prepares the phone to be ready for the Marshmallow update. The second part brings the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and bumps up the version number to 24.14.10. As the soak test has ended, we presume that the software is in a very good shape.

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Marshmallow update will bring new features to the phone, including Google Now on Tap, Doze, new app permissions system, and much more.
