Motorola will announce its new offering in India under the moniker Moto Z2 Play. The phone will go on pre-order today itself at 2 PM on Flipkart exclusively. With so much at stake in mid-rangers, can Z2 Play pull some strings, let’s find out.
Moto Z2 Play, the Motorola mid-ranger
With Moto G5 Plus and Moto Z2 (not announced yet) on either side, Moto Z2 Play faces the hardest competition from other OEMs. The handset was launched a few days ago in Brazil and is now making its Indian appearance. It falls directly in face of OnePlus and Mi flagships which can be a serious offense nowadays. Whether it can take the punches or be knocked down, only time will tell.
Coming to specs sheet, Moto Z2 Play, the second generation device for Z Play series offers 5.5-Inch of screen estate with Full HD resolution. It’s insanely slim at 6 mm, meaning the loss of 500 mAh battery from last year. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset with Adreno 506. It will come in two RAM and Storage variants – 3 GB RAM & 32 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM & 64 GB ROM.
Camera Department of Moto Z2 Play is governed by 12 MP rear and 5 MP front shooters. The image quality is expected to be good, given the camera results of Moto G5 Plus.
As far as the pricing is concerned, Moto Z2 Play is expected to be priced at Rs. 30,000 in India, however, it remains reserved to Motorola until the official launch.
The unveiling takes place at 12:30 PM IST and can be watched on Flipkart
