For the owners of Moto X Play, the mid-ranger smartphone from 2015 by Motorola, we have some great news to pump up the weekend. The said smartphone is now getting the Android Nougat treatment, and that too Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Meaning, fewer bugs and full features of Nougat OS in one go.
Motorola Moto X Play Nougat Update
The official website for Motorola has already documented the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat for Moto X Play, so the roll out is already on the way.
In case you are curious to learn whether the update is available for your particular region, visit the Settings menu of your smartphone and check for the update manually. The information is sparse on this topic, so you can comment in the section below to let fellow users know about the update.
Android 7.1.1 Nougat is the latest official update for the Google Mobile Operating System so it’s the ironed out flavor. Along with that, the update also includes all security fixes until now i.e. May 2017.
The latest update brings all Nougat features like Multi-window, Vulkan API, Doze on the Go, new set of emojis and much more. Overall, it’s a great update for any device. And for a device that’s almost 2 years old, it’s even better. We hope rest of the OEMs follow the direction Motorola heads.
For those who don’t know, Moto X Play was released in July 2015 with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It featured a 5.5-Inch Full HD display powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC and 2 Gigs of RAM.
