Lenovo had launched the new Moto G 4th Gen phones last month, and the Moto G4 Plus has received a good response from the market. Most of the popularity that the phone has received is due to the popularity of the Moto G lineup, but the G4 Plus carries good specs and features for the price tag it offers.

Meanwhile, the budget segment is hot with new, competitive devices, so it is getting hard for Moto to stay in the market. Asus launched its new Asus Zenfone 3 recently, and there have been some serious improvements over the Zenfone 2. As the Moto G4 Plus and the Asus Zenfone 3 fall in a similar price range, users will have a confusing time choosing between the two budget smartphones.

So which one should you choose between the Asus Zenfone 3 vs. Moto G4 Plus? Let’s compare the specs and features and see which phone emerges as the better one.

Display and Design: Both the phones come with 5.5-inches Full HD displays with Gorilla Glass 3. Even though looks are subjective, the Moto G4 Plus looks plain and nothing special, and even the pebble-like curve seen in previous Moto G phones is gone. On the other hand, the Asus Zenfone 3 looks great with a modern and attractive design that has been improved from the Zenfone 2.

Processor and Memory: The Zenfone 3 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The phone comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, while another variant of the phone offers 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. You can expand the storage up to 256GB using the second SIM slot as a microSD slot.

The Moto G4 Plus comes with an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at a maximum of 1.5GHz. There’s 2/3/4GB of RAM with 16/32GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD slot.

The Moto G4 Plus sports a 16 MP f/2.0 camera at the back with PDAF and laser AF along with dual LED dual tone flash. However, it does come with OIS which is a major downside. The phone gets a 5MP f/2.2 camera at the front.

Battery and Extras: Both the phones get 3000mAh batteries, run on Android Marshmallow out of the box, and come with fingerprint sensors.

Verdict

The Moto G4 Plus costs around $223, while the Asus Zenfone 3 is priced at $249. For that extra price, you get better camera setup, better processor, more internal storage for the top variant, and better looks too. We choose the Zenfone 3. Which one will you choose?
