With many smartphone companies rolling out the OTA for Android Nougat, Moto fans were eagerly waiting for the update. Motorola Deutschland had confirmed in December that several Moto models would receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update during December. As promised, Motorola successfully rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus just a few weeks ago.
When will Moto G4 and G4 Plus get Android 7.1.1 Nougat update?
Motorola has already started working on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus models. Although no official date has been announced by the company, Moto G4 and G4 Plus will likely get the Android 7.1.1 update towards the end of Q1 or early Q2 2017. Moto G4 and G4 Plus were originally running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow until they received the Android 7.0 Nougat OTA.
Android 7.0 Nougat comes with amazing features. Nougat introduced bundled notifications which groups related alerts into a neat package that you can expand and collapse with a tap. With bundled notifications comes another feature called Direct Replies. This feature lets you reply straight from the alert as soon as it pops up on your screen or from the bundled notification itself. Direct Replies is known to work with most chat apps. Android Nougat also comes with Doze mode to help you save battery. Wish to toggle between apps? Multi-tasking feature lets you do just that! The multi-tasking feature lets you double-tap the recents button to toggle between last two open apps.
