AMD Ryzen packs in true machine intelligence with 8 processor cores, 16 threads and an astonishingly efficient 65W TDP. As AMD continues to make inroads into CPU space with its Ryzen line of processors, more and more manufacturers are looking at incorporating Ryzen into their laptops and PC. With reports about Apple planning to make MacBook Pro 2017 unbeatable with AMD Raven Ridge APU, it looks like Microsoft is also seriously considering integrating (or has already integrated?) AMD Ryzen in Surface Pro 5.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 to come with AMD Ryzen?
The successor to Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has set high expectations. Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could make its arrival this Spring and it could come with the latest and greatest offering from AMD – AMD Ryzen! Trailer for Alien: Covenant flaunts a new Microsoft Surface device. And guess who’s sponsoring the movie? Well, you got it right. AMD. The trailer’s description says it loud and clear “Intelligence powered by AMD, Ryzen and Radeon”. Well that’s good enough a indication that the next Surface Pro offering from Microsoft could come with AMD Ryzen.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date
With Windows 10 Creators Update all set to be unleashed this Spring, it’s very likely that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will make its appearance soon, with few rumors even hinting at a Q1 launch. Surface Pro 5 is expected to come with a stunning 4K display, USB Type-C and a magnetic stylus that supports wireless charging. If the Surface Pro 5 is to release in Q1, Intel Kaby Lake is a high possibility since AMD Ryzen simply doesn’t fit into the timeline. But if Microsoft has already decided to go with AMD Ryzen, we may see a power-packed Surface Pro 5, one that’ll definitely give the competition a run for money!
