For the time being, Bitcoin seems to be getting more attention than the Windows 10 Mobile update from Microsoft. After declaring no support for bitcoin on its support site, the company spokesman has come up with an apology for the inaccurate information.
Earlier, the support website read:
You can no longer redeem Bitcoin into your Microsoft account. Existing balances in your account will still be available for purchases from Microsoft Store, but can’t be refunded.
Microsoft Spokesman clarification to TechCrunch:
We continue to support Bitcoin for adding money to your Microsoft account which can be used for purchasing content in the Windows and Xbox stores. We apologize for inaccurate information that was inadvertently posted to a Microsoft site, which is currently being corrected.
While no one knows the exact reason behind the false information, it’s good to see the ramification done soon.
For those who don’t know, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency which can be used in place of regular currency like USD. Microsoft started supporting Bitcoin just a year ago for store purchases.
We will update the article once we get more info on the subject.
