Micromax has launched a new flagship smartphone in India, the Micromax Dual 5. It’s the most expensive Micromax offering available in the market right now and falls directly between the Mi 5 and OnePlus 3. Whether it can take the battle, only time will tell. Anyhow, let’s dig into details and find out what the Dual 5 has to offer.
Micromax Dual 5 Specifications
But, before we do that, let’s talk about the design. Micromax Dual 5 is an all metal smartphone with a sealed battery and dual camera setup on the back. You will find antenna lines on top and bottom with Micromax branding residing just above the latter. It’s a decent looking handset, if not special.
The smartphone sports a 5.5-Inch Full HD AMOLED display with 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC ticking under the hood. There is 4 GB of RAM and 128 Gigs of Internal storage, which is further expandable via micro-SD card up to 128 GB. Just like the most smartphone today, this one too features a hybrid slot, meaning you can either use 2 sims or 1 sim and 1 micro-SD card.
On the camera front, which is also the USP of the smartphone, as evident from naming convention, the Micromax Dual 5 features a dual 13 MP + 13 MP lenses on the rear. If two aren’t enough, there is another 13 MP shooter on the front for selfies. The smartphone still boots the dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which doesn’t seem great, especially at this price range. OnePlus 3 is already running Android 7.1.1 and Google will release the next iteration soon.
Micromax Dual 5 Pricing and Where to buy
Micromax has gone premium in pricing this time, and the new Dual 5 costs Rs. 24,999. This pits it directly against Mi 5 and OnePlus 3. Both smartphones feature better specs, barring the storage, and bring a lot more to the table. In case, you are interesting buying one for yourself, the same is available on Flipkart now.
