Having established its Canvas lineup of handsets among the commercially most successful Android smartphones in India, Micromax now seems to be on a roll with the launch of the new Micromax Dual 5.
The new handset, simply put, is the company’s best bet till date to tap into the Premium segment of the country’s smartphone market.
The Dual 5 comes with a much-improved camera, a new design language, as well as significantly beefed up security. As the name itself suggests, the handset boasts a dual-lens camera on the rear with a 13MP sensor on each. One of these is a monochrome sensor — the kind that we saw on the Honor 6X. Also, both these sensors come with a f/1.8 aperture to ensure good lighting, as well as Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). Some of the main camera features include Slow Shutter mode, Anti-haze mode, Macro mode, Pro Mode, 3D Video, Movie mode, slow-motion video recording at 120fps, and more.
Other key Micromax Dual 5 specs include a Snapdragon 652 chip bundled with Adreno 510 GPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 128GB internal storage, 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass display and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The 3200 mAh battery provides enough juice for a day of moderate use whereas the Quick Charge technology with USB Type C ensures that the battery is charged from 0% to 95% in 45 minutes approx.
One of the most emphasized aspects on the new Micromax Dual 5 is the security feature. Micromax has stated that in order to boost users’ privacy and security, it has integrated an independent high-quality chip which unbreakable and military-grade. This advanced security chip provides hardware-level security and has been awarded CC EAL 5+ security certification. For a better perspective, most smartphones out there typically has only EAL 2+ level security.
The Micromax Dual 5 is launching at a price of Rs 24,999. The company has promised a replacement for any kind of damage within the first one year.
