A few days back, we had told you about the Exynos 8890 version of the Meizu PRO 6 that was spotted on a benchmark test. Well, some new details about the phone have been leaked on Weibo, and the details suggest some exciting changes in the phone.
Google Translate helped us translate the text post that was originally written in Chinese as Weibo is a completely Chinese microblogging site. The post says that the Meizu PRO 6 will get a new variant soon that will be running Samsung’s Exynos 8890 processor. Also, the phone will have dual-curved screens.
The current PRO 6 runs on Helio X25, world’s first ten-core chipset, but isn’t as powerful as the Snapdragon 820 that powers most of the flagships of this year. But the Exynos 8890 will surely give a tough fight to SD 820 as it is an equivalent octa-core processor with more or less similar performance. It is also rumored that this new version of the PRO 6 will get 4GB of RAM.
As for the curved screen, we don’t know whether this will be the same as the “Edge” variant seen in the Galaxy S7. If it turn out to be an Edge screen, then the new variant of the Meizu PRO 6 will sell in huge numbers. There are equal chances that it might simply be a display curved on both the sides and disappearing into the bezels, giving the front a more fluid than flat look.
The tipster also reveals that Exynos variant of the PRO 6 might be priced around CNY 3,000, which roughly translates to $460. At that price, the phone will have to be better than the Xiaomi Mi5 to create more fans in the market.
