Meizu’s new Flyme 5 OS was unveiled back in September along with the flagship Meizu Pro 5. However, the company did not release the new OS alongside the phone and instead rolled it out for the Meizu MX5 first. The company had indicated that the OS needed to be tuned to get the best out of the Pro 5. Fortunately, after 2 months of long wait, the Flyme 5 Beta has finally been released for the Meizu Pro 5. So users can install the new OS on their Pro 5 right away.
However, if you were paying attention to the details, let us tell you that this is just a beta version of the Flyme 5 OS for the Meizu Pro 5. Thus, this update isn’t a stable version and won’t be available through the OTA update. Those who want to install this beta on their devices will have to flash it manually. In case you don’t want to go through the hassles of manual installation, you will have to wait for some more weeks to get the stable Flyme 5 update via OTA.
The new Flyme 5.0 brings a lot of new design changes and functionalities to the Meizu Pro 5. There’s the new card taskbar and the split-screen function. The camera UI has also been worked upon, and new shooting modes like GIF, voice photographs, slow motion, etc. are now available. The update brings a lot of great improvements. So if you want to try out this beta, just go to the official download page and flash the OS into your Pro 5.
