Meizu has just launched a new series of “A” smartphones, with Meizu A5 being the first member of this series. The handset features a modest set of specifications and price pitting it directly against the like of Redmi 4. Let’s find out what the smartphone has to offer.
Meizu A5 Specifications
The all new offering from Meizu sports a 5-Inch HD display of 1280 × 720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 octa-core SoC, paired with 2 Gigs of RAM and 16 GB internal storage.
Camera department of the Meizu A5 comprises of 8 MP rear and 5 MP front shooters. All this is powered by a decent battery juice of 3,060 mAh. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.1.
Meizu A5 Price and Color options
The smartphone is now listed on the company’s official website with a price tag of CNY 699, which translates to around $105. It is now available for purchase in China in three color variants of black, gold, and silver. Meizu A5 measures 144 x 70.5 x 8.3 mm and tips the weighing scale at 140 grams.
As for the design aspect is concerned, it’s a typical Meizu device with metallic unibody design language. The smartphone will face a tough battle from the king of budget offerings, Redmi 4, and only time will tell, whether Meizu can win the race with the new A-series.
