We all know about the Facial Controversy revolving around Mass Effect: Andromeda’s recent Gameplay Reveal Trailer. Specifically the facial animations of Sara Ryder. We think it’s time we gave my thoughts on the subject.
Mass Effect: Andromeda has weird facial animations but it isn’t anything to worry about
The facial animations in no way deter people from wanting to play the game. People who complain about things like that are just spoiled by today’s technology. Give it time and we are sure BioWare will fix the problem in Mass Effect: Andromeda. The other thing they did not show, and we think it was intentional, were the companions that were with her.
The Mass Effect series is known for their amazing facial animations. Bioware called it “digital actors”. To see a crappy animation on Sarah was shocking to us. That was a PR mistake on their part. Another scary possibility is that they are moving away from close-up face-to-face dialogue? How do we know without evidence of good facial animations?
However, it’s hilarious how people go apeshit over the facial animations from Dec 2nd gameplay demo. If the game comes out in March, then they have 3 months (!) to just work on game. And to polish the facial animations which is a huge amount of time for such a big dev team at Bioware.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is an upcoming action role-playing third-person shooter video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
