India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki on Friday launched the much-awaited crossover car Ignis in an effort to bring more variety to the country’s budget-sensitive auto market. The starting price of the new vehicle stands at Rs 459,000 approx.
Maruti Ignis will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. Overall, there are four different models, namely Maruti Ignis Sigma, Maruti Ignis Delta, Maruti Ignis Zeta, and Maruti Ignis Alpha.
Sigma comes in petrol variant and it sports manual transmission whereas Delta and Zeta are available in both diesel and petrol variants in addition to letting you choose from the automated manual transmission and manual transmission modes.
Alpha, on the other hand, has both petrol and diesel versions, but it comes with only the manual transmission.

Powered by four cylinders, the engine capacity of the petrol and diesel variants of the car will stand at 1197 cc (20.89 kmpl) and 1248 cc (26.80 kmpl) respectively. The fuel tank capacity is 32 liters.
As for the dimensions, all the models will have a length of 3700mm, 1690 mm width, and 1595 mm height. The car is spacious enough to accommodate five people comfortably. The boot space (along with parcel tray) will have a capacity of 260 liters.
All Maruti Ignis models will be sold only via Nexa outlets with online bookings already having started from January 1, 2017.
