When Apple held the WWDC 2016 event recently, fans were expecting much more than software releases. It was being thought that the Cupertino company would unveil the much-needed MacBook Pro (2016) at the event. But as we know, that did not happen, are we are still pretty much in dark about the company’s activities in that direction.
However, there are a lot of leaks and rumors that already predict exciting features for the upcoming Mac Pro notebooks. Most importantly, it is being said that the changes made to the laptops will be huge and will definitely be a large improvement over the Macbook Pro (2015). With that in mind, let’s compare the 2016 MacBook Pro vs. 2015 MacBook Pro to get a general idea of how better the new laptop will be.
Of course, what we know about the Mac Pro 2016 is comprised of rumors, leaks, and predictions. So do take them with a grain of salt. Let’s begin.
MacBook Pro 2016 vs. MacBook Pro 2015
Appearance and Screen
Let’s talk about the appearance first. MacBooks have always been great-looking devices, and it’s the same with the Mac Pro 2015. The notebook looks and feels great, but according to HNGN, the 2016 Pro will be much lighter and thinner than its predecessors. Also, the new notebooks will be offered in a new Rose Gold color too. It is also being said that a new 4K or perhaps a 5K display with 5120 x 2880 pixels resolution could be introduced in the new notebook, thus making it the best MacBook Pro ever.
Under The Hood Performance
As reported by ChristianTimes, the MacBook Pro 2016 will trump its predecessor with a much more powerful processor and more RAM. It is expected that the new 13″ and 15″ Pro models will be powered by Intel’s latest Skylake processors and will carry 16GB of more RAM. The new CPU will help provide much better performance and an equal improvement in the battery life. New Radeon RX 400 series graphics cards are also expected along with Cellular 46 connectivity.
Brand New Features
A ParentHerald report suggests that the 2016 MacBook Pro will get many new and exciting features. It is being said that new OLED touch bar will replace the function keys and will provide notifications with controls for the on-screen app. The new 2016 Mac Pro models are expected to ship with macOS Sierra and multiple USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3. Touch ID support is also in the rumors and might get embedded into the power button. Lastly, rumors say that the 3.5mm headphone jack might be killed.
MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date
Yibada suggests that the new Mac Pro models will be launched only after the iPhone 7 is released. This means that we are looking at a Q4 2016 release for the MacBook Pro (2016) notebooks. We doubt that Apple will delay the release any further, but let’s wait for more details to come up before making any wild guesses.
