Microsoft is giving away a Display Dock valued at $99 in some countries with the purchase of the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL. For those who are not aware, the display dock is used to connect the phone either with a monitor or keyboard, transforming it into a PC. On Friday, Microsoft finally made an announcement that the U.S. and Canadian buyers will receive a free Continuum Display Dock together with the purchase of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
But shortly after their announcement, Microsoft removed the deal for Lumia 950, meaning that only buyers of the larger-screened (and higher priced) Lumia 950 XL will receive the Display Dock for free. And by the way, in the U.S., Lumia 950 XL will not be available from any carrier and you can get it from the Microsoft Store.
To qualify for the free Dock, you have to buy the Lumia 950 XL and register it with Microsoft between November 25 and January 31, 2016. After that you will receive a promotional code from Microsoft that can be used in the Lumia Offers app at the Microsoft Store, where you will pick up your free Display Dock. That must be done before February 29, 2016. Once they’re out of stock, you won’t be able to get the Dock.
Lumia 950 XL is listed at the Microsoft Store under “coming soon” with a price set to $649. You can pre-register for the handset by clicking here. Provide Microsoft with the information they request and you will receive a notification when pre-orders for the phablet will be available.
