LGs next-generation flagship, the LG G6 smartphone with an 18:9 FullVision display, has started surfacing for pre-orders in Europe and the UK.
While previous listings in Romania hinted that the forthcoming handset could set back buyers around $750 or more, it now looks like the actual price is slightly higher than what was being anticipated earlier. One of the first retailers to have made available the handset for presale was Notebooksbilliger.de where the LG G6 is up for sale at just under $829 (including taxes). Note that this is the unlocked variant of the phone with 32GB native storage. Unfortunately, no shipping details are available as of now.
Initially spotted by the folks over at GSMArena, the G6 32GB model (black) is available for pre-order in the UK via the MobileFun. The UK price of the said model is just around $860. However, even this listing doesn’t mention anything with regard to the shipping details.
As of today, three UK carriers have confirmed that they are bringing the LG G6 to their network at the earliest possible, although none of them were willing to reveal anything concerning availability or price of the device.
Worth noting, from the point of view of price, the LG G6 can be compared with the forthcoming Sony Xperia XZ Premium 64GB (~ $800) that comes with a more powerful SnapDragon 835 processor. Other rival products will include the Huawei P10 Plus which is also priced at around $800 or less but brings you 128 GB native storage.
Of course, LG G6’s biggest competitors will be the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, with both these handsets are likely to debut at a special Samsung Unpacked event scheduled on March 29, 2017.
Key LG G6 specs include Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 5.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB ROM, Android 7.0 Nougat, dual 13MP camera on the back, 5MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, and more.
