Fresh photos of the LG G6 Mini (name unconfirmed) have surfaced. The images suggest that the device is ready and may get announced soon.
In a bid to stay ahead of the competition and also because the Snapdragon 835 flagship chipset was unavailable, LG ended up launching the LG G6 powered with Snapdragon 821 chipset in February this year. It allowed LG to release its phone earlier than Galaxy S8 in certain markets to attract buyers. Samsung is known for releasing mini versions of its Galaxy S series phones. Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini from 2014 is the last mini phone for its flagship smartphone. However, the company has not released Galaxy S6 Mini and Galaxy S7 Mini smartphones yet. Since the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have huge screens of respective sizes of 5.8 inches and 6.2 inches, speculations are rife that Samsung may release a Galaxy S8 Mini this year.
There is no evidence of the existence of Galaxy S8 Mini, but LG appears to be ready with LG G6 Mini and it may launch soon. Just as LG had released the LG G6 earlier than its rival Galaxy S8, it appears that the company may most likely launch the LG G6 Mini earlier than Galaxy S8 Mini. Techno Buffalo has revealed the leaked photos of the LG G6 Mini as well as some information on its specifications.
The LG G6 has a 5.7-inch display and offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. Its mini version is speculated to come with a smaller display of 5.4 inches and it is also rumored to deliver an aspect ratio of 18:9. Like the LG G6 that offers a screen-to-body ratio of 78.37 percent, its mini edition is pegged to support a higher screen-to-body ratio a bit less than 80 percent. There is no confirmation on whether it will be sporting the same internals as the LG G6.
The rear side of the alleged LG G6 Mini has twin rear cameras and a fingerprint scanner. On the top of the device is a 3.5mm audio jack and at the bottom is the external speaker and USB-C port. The volume buttons and Power key appear to be present on the left side.
LG has released mini editions phones in past such as LG G2 Mini and LG G4c. For LG G5, it had released a weaker sibling called LG G5 SE powered with Snapdragon 652 and 3 GB of RAM. In February, LG had trademarked the “LG G6 Lite” moniker. Hence, LG may launch the device shown in the leaked images above as a weaker variant of LG G6.
