After months of speculation and rumors, the LG G5 is finally out. The phone has been unveiled at the MWC 2016 and brings loads of new features that will amaze Android fans. LG has taken innovation to the next level, but the price that the company is asking for the G5 will surprise everyone (in a happy way). But first let’s go through the features of the new LG G5.

LG G5 Features
Metal Body & Modular Design: First of all, LG has ditched plastic and has gone all metal for the LG G5, which looks beautiful in that metal avatar. Then, All the previous rumors about the LG G5 being a modular phone were true. The phone gets a modular design with a removable bottom, which helps you swap the battery with a full-charged one. Then there’s a separate battery module that comes with camera controls and an added battery. The company has also unveiled a Hi-Fi DAC extra module.
Dual-Camera Setup: Next up on the list is the dual camera setup, with a 16MP primary sensor (85 degree lens) and an 8MP wide-angle sensor. Meanwhile, the front camera gets a wider 135-degree lens for more accommodating selfies. The wider and narrower view can be seen together in a real-time live preview within the camera app. The camera app expectedly comes with many more exciting features.
LG Friends: The company has rolled out some companion devices for the LG G5 that pair up with the phone through the LG Friends Manager app. The first device is a ‘Rolling bot’ that is like a sphere that gets a camera on it. You can use it to move it remotely and spy around your surroundings. Then there’s the LG 360 VR headset that has its own display and connects to the G5 through the USB Type-C port and provides you virtual reality entertainment. Also included in the list is a new type of drone controller.
Awesome Display: The display in the LG G5 is a very comfortable 5.3″ IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1440 x 2560-pixel (QuadHD). The screen is extremely bright, and it will no more be a problem to use your phone under direct sunlight. Also, the “Always on” option helps you see the time, missed calls, messages, etc. without pressing any buttons and waking up the phone, thus saving battery.
Processor and Memory: The LG G5 runs on the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card.
Fingerprint Sensor, Battery, etc.: The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back and also doubles up as the power button. There’s a 2800mAh battery inside, which might not provide ample power. But then there’s USB Type-C to offer rapid charging, and removable batteries mean no more running around with power banks.
LG G5 Price and Release Date
Price for the LG G5 hasn’t been announced yet, we rumors say that it’s going to be around $599, which would be excellent. The release date will be in April, and the US will be among the first countries to get the phone.
