If you own the LG G3 and live in Poland, you are in for a surprise. LG Poland has announced on Facebook that it will be releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the G3 throughout the country. Though the update is only for the unlocked versions of the phone. Poland is a testbed for LG for testing new OS updates, which is a good news for LG users in the country.
The rumor about LG G3 getting the Marshmallow update came up on the internet in November, suggesting that the update would be rolled out in mid-December. But the actual official roll-out was delayed by a few weeks, which is not a big deal. At least the company considered its old flagship worthy of getting the latest firmware update, unlike most Android OEMs who abandon their old flagships in just an year or so after their release.
So keeping its old flagship in line for updates will keep LG going a long way in the market. The LG G2 was updated to Android Lollipop, while even the G3 was given the Lollipop update, after which it will now be getting Android 6. Even the affordable LG G Stylo got Android Marshmallow a couple of days ago. Keep it up, LG!
