LeTV added a new smartphone in its inventory last week. Dubbed as LeTV Le 1s, the smartphone was announced in China, for CNY 1,099 (approx. $173). The phone is scheduled to go on sale in the country starting today, and the company announced that it has already received 11 million orders, worth $1.9 billion.
This is definitely a big success for the LeTV, considering the fact that it is a newbie in the smartphones business. Based in China, the company is mainly known for the largest online Video production and distribution in its homeland. It entered into the mobile making business with three smartphones namely Le 1, Le 1 Pro and the Le Max. The three dual-SIM handsets are being claimed to be first in the world to come with a USB Type-C ports.
The latest LeTV Le 1s managed to gather huge fan-base within no time, thanks to its high-end specs and an affordable price tag. Powered by an octa-core Helio X10 chipset, it features 3GB of RAM, 32GB non-expandable storage, and a 3000mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with LeTV’s EUI on top.
The Le 1s sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and boasts a 13-megapixel primary camera, which is not less than a deal. Other features include 4G LTE, USB Type-C port, and all-metal body with premium look.
The company is planning to cross the borders to expand its business in the other countries – US and India. LeTV Le 1s may be the initial offering for these countries.
