“The Last of Us 2” release may be delayed further and there is a strong possibility that it may not release in 2017 at all. It is because the game developer is not ready to talk or confirm anything about the sequel. However, Naughty Dog did unleash a new trailer for its most anticipated “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy” wowing and pacifying the crowd at E3 2017 to some extent.
Fans of the “Uncharted” franchise were quite happy to watch the trailer of the fourth expansion at the Sony’s annual event which is due for launch in August this year exclusively for PS4. However, the gamers were a bit disappointed because Naughty Dog did not reveal a word about “The Last of Us 2” and even did not give any hint regarding the possibility of “Uncharted 5” reports Mic.
Sequel Progressing Very Slowly; Delayed Release Expected
The creative director of “Lost Legacy,” Shaun Escayg during an interview discussed few things about the focus of Naughty Dog at present which also gives you an idea as to when fans can expect the sequel to be released. According to the director, “The Last of Us 2” is not a top priority as of now.
Escayg said that the studio is now more focused on the fourth sequel of “Uncharted” franchise and hence fans should not expect a release announcement sooner for the most awaited sequel. On the other hand, he stated that there is a possibility of “Uncharted 5” as the upcoming game offers lots of new features that can be explored further in a completely new game.
Work On ‘The Last of Us 2’ May Speed Up After August 22
Escayg said in his statement that the entire team of Naughty Dog is currently working on “Uncharted 4,” reports Cog Connected. The team did not expect the fourth installment to be as large as it has turned out and now they have to work harder to meet the deadline of August 22.
So, there is a strong possibility that the developers will focus on “The Last of Us 2” after “The Lost Legacy” has been released in August.
