Torrents sites ran into trouble again after a crackdown that saw the shutdown of Kickass Torrents and torrents Meta search site Torrentz.eu. Sometime last year Popcorn Time suffered a similar fate.
Kickass torrents, however, may bounce back as it appears not all of its domains are completely shut down. Apparently, the domains Kat.cr and Kickass.cr are on sale on SEDO marketplace. When you open Kickass domain such as kickasstorrents.com you will be greeted with the Homeland Security badge. But opening the aforementioned Costa Rican domains does not yield the same result.
The fact that the domains are on sale is an indication they are not seized, at least not yet. The minimum bid is listed as $230. Should the domain be bought, we could see a bounce back of the popular torrents site. But until then torrents fans will have to stick to Kickass alternatives such as The Pirate Bay, Extra Torrents and others listed here.
Torrents site are considered illegal as they allow people to download copyrighted content.
