The iOS jailbreak scene has slowed down pretty much after the Pangu 9 jailbreak was patched. Since then, we haven’t really heard any strong confirmation about the next jailbreak release. iOS 9.2 is the latest iOS release, so it is natural for us to expect an iOS 9.2 jailbreak next. However, latest activities suggest that we might never see an iOS 9.2 jailbreak.

Luca Todesco, the famous Italian hacker who has been appearing the news too much these days, along with some statements by Pangu’s jailbreak partner 25PP, suggest that iOS 9.2 jailbreak has been found but is not being released by jailbreak teams as the iOS 9.2 firmware itself is buggy and not worth jailbreaking. It is being said that iOS 9.2 contains a lot of bugs and security vulnerabilities that have been resolved by Apple in iOS 9.2.1. So it obviously wouldn’t make any sense to be on a jailbroken iOS version that is not secure and stable enough.

So if there’s not going to be an iOS 9.2 jailbreak, we should now directly wait for an iOS 9.3 jailbreak. If you don’t care about jailbreaking, you should jump to the latest iOS version now. But if you are a jailbreak user, you must remain on iOS 9.2 and wait for a jailbreak. An educational guess says that we must expect the next jailbreak only after iOS 9.3 is released officially. The wait is on!
