Intex recently launched its latest budget smartphone Intex Cloud Jewel at a price of Rs. 5,999 in the Indian smartphone market. The device is being exclusively sold through the Indian online website Snapdeal starting March 28.

The Intex Cloud Jewel sports a 720p 5-inch IPS display with a pixel density of 294 ppi. The device is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It offers an internal storage of 16 GB which can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 32GB.Intex Cloud Jewel

The Cloud Jewel comes shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports 4G LTE. On the camera front, the device features an 8 MP rear shooter and a 2 MP front facing snapper for selfies and video chat. The device also includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, etc. among other connectivity options. The smartphone packs a 2500mAh battery which should provide enough juice for a regular day’s work.

Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies said on the launch event, “Cloud Jewel is yet another brilliant 4G-LTE device from the house of Intex and is a true delight for the consumers. Year 2016 will be all about 4G-LTE smartphones in India and Intex will continue to bring innovative devices at affordable prices for consumers. We are happy to partner with Snapdeal for bringing this device exclusively to consumers and are sure of expanding our online reach.”

The Intex Cloud Jewel offers decent specs at a fair price, but the budget segment of the smartphone market has been seeing cut-throat competition off late and the fate of this device is yet to be seen.
