So after letting the LG Nexus 5(2015) have a bit of the limelight yesterday, the Huawei Nexus is back to maintain it’s status as the Nexus to look forward to this year. For those of you not quite sure what we are thinking talking about two Nexus devices in the same year; let us remind you that this year we will be welcoming two Nexus phones: a 5.7” phablet from Huawei and and a 5.2” phone from LG as we reported a few months ago.

Huawei Nexus

While we do not doubt LG’s prowess to manufacture a Nexus after the success of the Nexus 5(2013), underselling the Huawei Nexus would be unworthy considering the uniqueness of the collaboration between Google and a Chinese Manufacturer for the first time.

The Huawei Nexus is back in the news today, and courtesy to none other than the leakster Evan Blass(@evleaks) for talking and getting us more anxious than we already were. According to evleaks, the Huawei Nexus is going to be a 5.7-inch phablet with a Quad HD display and equipped with the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Let us remind you of yesterday’s news here where the LG Nexus bechmarked at 85k on AnTuTu and we can expect the same if not less of the Huawei Nexus.

The source also states that the Huawei Nexus might feature a full metal body similar to that of the Huawei P8 and the Huawei Mediapad M2 released yesterday. Further additions would include a fingerprint scanner which seems a plausible expectation considering that Android M would have native support for fingerprint reading.

As far as the launch date is concerned, it is expected to be in Q4 2015 since Google has utilized the late autumn window for the Nexus devices in the previous years. We hope the device when finally unveiled lives up to all the hype it has stirred.
