Huawei seems all set to lock horns with the big guns like Samsung and LG with its upcoming flagship device Huawei Mate S2 which will reportedly sport a curved display.
This isn’t a wild rumour or hoax, but it is rather coming from a very authentic source. Sun Changxu, an analyst of the supply chain sources has revealed that Huawei is working on a curved display right now for the upcoming Mate S2.
The curved display in the Huawei Mate S2, however, will be different from the one in the Samsung Galaxy Edge. This would mean that the Mate S2 would have curved edges, but not at the sides. The positioning of the curves hasn’t been revealed yet. It might be possible that Huawei may come with curved top and bottom edges. This makes some sense as the curved top and bottom edges will prove useful while looking at the notifications when the phone is in the pocket.
Huawei has been known for bringing new innovation to its devices. The Huawei Mate S was the world’s first smartphone to sport a pressure-sensitive display; even ahead of iPhone 6S. The Mate S was a top-of-the-line, high-end smartphone with great specs and we can expect the same for its successor Mate S2. The Mate S is currently priced around $800 and we expect a hefty price-tag for the Mate S2 too.
Much is not yet known about this device, but rumours suggest that more information will be revealed during September this year. We have great hopes pinned on this device and we expect nothing less than excellence from the Mate S2. We’ll keep you posted with all the latest developments, till then, stay tuned.
