After the successful roll out of Nougat update to Honor 8 device in Japan, Huawei has started seeding the same Android Nougat 7.0 release to the global audience. Many users in the different countries have been reported receiving the latest firmware. This one’s a heavy update and sizes at around 2.23GB.
What’s New in Huawei Honor 8 Nougat Release
Huawei Honor 8 Nougat update brings along EMUI 5.0, which debuted on the Mate 9. This release is 300 MB bigger in size compared to the one released in Japan. Some system-related optimizations, stability-related improvements, and better app versatility are also included with this update.
As part of the Nougat OS, users will get the night mode, bundled notification, enhanced security update, improved battery optimization, multi-window options and numerous other value-added features to enhance user experience. Since it’s bigger in size than the last update, we can safely assume that a lot of other changes are included.
How to install the update on your Honor 8
- When you receive an update notification on the smartphone, select “Yes, I’m in.”
- After that, the software download will start. Once that finishes, select “Install Now.”
- Your smartphone will reboot after the installation.
- Leave the smartphone idle for few minutes to complete the installation.
- That’s it! Your smartphone now sports the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
Huawei is rolling the latest Nougat update in phases so it might take some time before you receive an update notification on your phone’s screen. But, you can check for the update manually by going into Settings >> About Phone >> system update.
As for other devices from Huawei are concerned, the list includes P9, P9 Plus and Mate 8 to receive the Nougat firmware.
