Another company has just announced which Android Models will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. This is following a leak of updates from most manufacturers earlier in the week, but of course confirmation is always needed from the companies themselves.
This time it is Huawei’s turn to let consumers know which of their devices will be rolling out with the highly anticipated update. As to be expected, most recent phone models have made the list, at least in China. Hopefully the news will be consistent across the board, but only time will tell when we receive the final news in upcoming days.
According to a post on Chinese social site – Weibo, the following phones have been confirmed for the update in China:
- Honor 7
- Honor 7i
- Honor 6 Plus
- Honor 6
- Honor X2
- Honor 4X
- Honor Play 4C
- Huawei P8
- Huawei Mate 7
- Huawei Mate S
- Huawei P8 Youth Edition
- Huawei P8 Max
- Huawei Maimang 4
- Huawei G7 Plus
- Huawei G7
That’s quite the list for Android 6.0 Marshmallow!
Hopefully your phone is on the list, but if it’s not, don’t panic yet! While these phones have been confirmed for Android 6.0 Marshmallow, there are no promises that this is the full and final list of upgrade eligible devices. Plus, once again, this list is for China. Things may change in upcoming days as international announcements are made.
That being said, there are considerations to be made! Would you feel the need to purchase a new phone if yours is not upgrade eligible? With the new updates scheduled to come looking pretty impressive, it may just be an excuse to change it up.
