HTC has officially confirmed through a teaser that it will be announcing its upcoming flagship on May 16. Initial speculations suggest that HTC would introduce the successor of HTC 10 as HTC 11. However, newer rumors suggested that the Taiwanese company would be launching it as HTC U. Evan Blass, who has a neat record of spilling information on upcoming phones has revealed HTC 10’s successor would be launching as HTC U 11.
HTC U 11 Design
The HTC U 11 is rumored to be codenamed as HTC Ocean. The most unique feature of the phone is it that does not feature any physical buttons on its chassis, but comes with a touch-sensitive metallic chassis. This feature is allegedly known as Edge Sense. Short press, longer press, and swiping are some of the actions that can be applied on the touch-sensitive frame to launch apps or scroll through apps or more.

The design of the phone or the HTC U 11 smartphone itself has been allegedly revealed in a leaked video that surfaced in the previous year. Speculations also indicate that the chassis of the HTC U 11 certified which means the phone will be undamaged even if it is submerged in 3.2 feet deep waters for about 30 minutes. It is expected to arrive in color choices such as white, black, blue, red and silver.

According to the leaked information that has surfaced in the past few months, the HTC U 11 will be featuring a 5.5-inch Super LCD screen that will be producing a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. A 2.45 GHz octa-core processor from the Snapdragon 835 SoC. Its 4 GB RAM variant pegged to come with 64 GB storage and its 6 GB RAM mode is speculated to feature 128 GB of storage.
The rear-facing camera of the upcoming HTC flagship is speculated to be of 12-megapixel whereas the front is expected to sport a 16-megapixel snapper. The phone will be running on Android 7.1 Nougat OS and HTC Sense 9 UI and it will be coming with a fingerprint scanner embedded under the display. It will be also featuring Bluetooth 5.0. It is rumored to house a 4,000 mAh battery.
Leaked information has revealed that the phone will be equipped with four microphones for topnotch audio recording. The phone won’t be featuring a 3.5 mm audio jack, but users can listen to music through USB Type-C and with BoomSound feature onboard, it will be able to deliver the best audio experience.
The phone is also speculated to come with Smart Companion AI assistant which is also available in HTC U Ultra and U Play phones. A “Sense Link” feature on HTC U 11 will let users establish better interaction of files between the phone and computer. It will let HTC U 11 users access the files of their PC while they are outside. This feature will also let users view the notifications of HTC U 11 on PC.
