Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC, has tweeted today that the HTC One M9 is soon going to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update this month. The update will be sent out to the unlocked version of the M9. Meanwhile, the HTC One A9 will also be updated, but it will be getting the just-announced Android 6.0.1. This new version of Marshmallow comes with new emoji and a few minor tweaks.
The new update will bring new features to the M9, like the power-saving Doze feature that puts the phone in a deep sleep when not in use. Google Now On Tap is also included and is a smart contextual search service. The update also brings new in-app permissions.
The HTC One A9 was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and it’s good to see that the company is eager to push updates to the phone. Also, the company doesn’t want to disappoint the One M9 users and is hence pushing out the Marshmallow update for its flagships sooner than other companies. Further developments are awaited soon.
