After a very long wait, the HTC One M8 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has finally started rolling out officially in India. The 2014 HTC flagship is getting the update now via OTA (over-the-air). So without wasting any time, you can directly jump to the new Android version. The roll-out is gradual, so wait for a few hours or a day before the update notification pops up. You can also check for the update manually through Settings> About Phone> System Update.
The new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the HTC One M8 increases the software number to to 6.12.161.4 and comes with the new Sense 7 UI. For those who don’t know, the unlocked version of the M8 had received the update last month in the U.S. The new update brings new app permissions, Doze, Android Pay, Google Now on Tap, etc.
The HTC One A9 (unlocked) had started receiving the latest Android 6.0.1 update last month in the US. This new update brought new emojis from Unicode 8 and Unicode 7 and also several bug fixes. The Google Keyboard got an update too, and the new update also included Google’s December Security Update.
Talking about the latest HTC flagship, the HTC One M9, the Android 6.0 update for the phone came in two parts last month. The first part of the update weighed 99.47MB and was a preparation for the second huge update that weighed 1.21GB.
