As reported earlier, the official release of the HTC Desire 728G in the Indian market for Rs. 17,990 was announced today. Faisal Siddiqui, president, HTC South Asia while announcing its launch said:-

“The new HTC Desire 728G Dual SIM brings distinctive design into a feature-rich smartphone, providing you with a great value smartphone which you can truly make your own. We want to provide a powerful, fully customisable experience to our customers, and the HTC Desire 728G Dual SIM brings this in abundance.”

And he was right. The Desire 728G Dual SIM features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display and running a 64-bit 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, with a Mali-T760 graphics processing unit and 1.5 GB of RAM. The HTC Desire 728G Dual SIM features HTC BoomSound stereo speakers on the front, hand in hand with Dolby Audio.

The camera specs aren’t half bad either. The handset features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and autofocus. And of course, for the selfie lovers, there’s a 5-megapixel front snapper. The device also comes with 16GB of native storage, expandable up to 2TB using a microSD card. The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop together with HTC’s Sense UI on top. It carries a 2,800 mAh battery.

Connectivity-wise, the Desire 728G Dual SIM offers 2G/3G, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, and micro-USB along with dual SIM and dual standby. The phone measures 157.9x 77.84 x 7.87mm and weighs around 153 grams.
