HTC is expected to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat pretty soon for multiple devices. Several HTC smartphones including HTC One A9, HTC One M9, and HTC 10  are due for Android 7.0 Nougat OS update. These handsets are expected to get the new update sooner than other models.

HTC 10, One A9, One M9, One M10 To Get Android 7.0 Nougat Update

While Google has released Android 7.1 Nougat with the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, the non-Nexus smartphones are still waiting for the Android 7.0 Nougat update. However, HTC devices might just be next in line. Previously, Google and HTC had partnered on Nexus devices. Hence, the Taiwanese tech giant is expected to get the latest Android software earlier than other third-party OEMs. The Android 7.0 Nougat comes with a host of new features including multi-window, direct reply notifications, enhanced power efficiency, etc.

While there is no fixed timeline about the Android Nougat update roll-out for HTC devices. As per new reports suggesting the HTC One A9, HTC One M9, and HTC 10 might get the new update before New Year. However, in the case of carrier devices, the software update will be delayed by a month or two, as they need to verify network compatibility and OS tweaks.

HTC has already confirmed that the HTC 10 will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update by the end of this year. This means that the locked versions will receive the new OS early next year. Earlier HTC had confirmed that the next version of Google Android will be coming to the HTC 10, HTC One A9 & HTC One M9. All major flagships and latest devices are expected to receive the new update. However, there is no confirmation regarding the One M8 so far. We will find out for sure, once HTC reveals the complete official list of eligible smartphones for Android Nougat Update.
