Getting ahead in a game is all part of the fun. Just like any other open world games in the market, Horizon Zero Dawn is played the same way. In order to survive it, one must scavenge parts and materials from different places and sources. Unfortunately, trying to just pick up random stuff is more counter-productive than it is helpful. That is why players should prioritize on rare loot items for better quality and worth.

Horizon Zero Dawn finding rare loot items

Animal Parts

These things are very rare in the game. This is due to the fact that most wildlife only exists in dense areas like the forests. There is a very slim chance of finding one in the open fields as many robots roam around it. Try looking into forests and areas near water for wild animals.

Machine Hearts, Crystal Braiding, and Luminous Brading

While all machines have hearts, there are only a few that are really rare and valuable. Rare machine hearts belong to those machines within a corrupted zone. For instance, the Sawtooth, one of the rarest item in the game, can only be found in a Sawtooth.

To find precious items easily, it is best to unlock the entire map first. To do this, scout for long necks and climb on one of them to the very top. After doing this, once the entire map is unlocked, locating machines like Rockbreaker, Behemoth, Thunderjaw, Deathbringer, Stormbird and other corrupted machines will be easier. Other corrupted machines to look for are Fire Bellowback, Trampler, Ravager, Snapmaw, Freeze Bellowback, Stalker, and Corruptor.

Desert Glass

This item is perhaps the rarest of all items. This is due to the fact that the desert glass is exclusive to humans only. In order to get one, you’ll need to track down a human settlement and be prepared to raid it. Fortunately, with much effort, this can be done with stealth thereby lessening bloodshed. However, in worst-case scenarios, be prepared to fight for your life.
