Huawei’s subsidiary Honor finally unveiled its much-hyped and anticipated device Honor Note 8 in its home country China. This 6.6-inch humungous phablet had been in the news for a good while now and it will surely be pegged against the likes of the Mi Max and Lenovo Phab 2 Pro.

The Honor Note 8 measures 178.8 x 90.9 x 7.18mm and weighs 219 grams. The USP of this device is definitely its gigantic 6.6-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display with a sharp pixel density of a 443ppi. Watching videos and playing games are surely going to be fun on this device. The phablet is powered by the octa-core Kirin 955 processor coupled with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. There is a humungous 4GB RAM under the hood and as far as the inbuilt memory is concerned, there are three variants: 32GB/64GB/128GB.

In the camera department, the Honor Note 8 sports a 13MP primary rear shooter and an 8MP front-facing camera on the front for selfies. Sadly, there is no 4K video recording support. The device supports hybrid dual-SIM slot (nano-SIMs or a microSD card), but again only one of the SIMs can support 4G LTE. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs an impressive 4,500mAh battery with USB Type-C connectivity.

The Honor Note 8 has been priced CNY 2,299 ($345) for the 32GB variant, CNY 2,499 ($375) for the 64GB variant, while the top-most model with 128GB storage will cost you CNY 2,799 ($420). The pre-sales of the device will commence on August 9 in China, however, the global availability isn’t yet known.
