Huawei has announced its much-anticipated smartphone, the Honor 6X. The latest mid-range smartphone by the company was launched at an event in China. It comes with features such as 2.5D curved glass display, Kirin 655 16nm processor, and 4GB RAM. The pre-orders have already started in China. The new smartphone goes on sale from October 25th.
The Huawei Honor 6X sports a 5.5-inch 2.5D curved glass IPS display with Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution. It is powered by an Octa-core Kirin 655 (4 x 2.1GHz + 4 x 1.7GHz) 16nm processor with Mali T830-MP2. It comes in multiple variants – 3GB/ 4GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB (eMMC 5.1) internal storage or 4GB RAM with 64GB (eMMC 5.1) internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 128GB via a micro SD card. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1.
The Honor 6X sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) system, 6P lens, 1.25um pixel size, PDAF and 2MP secondary camera that offers improved depth of field and background blur. It also features an 8-megapixel front camera.
The new smartphone sports an uni-body metal design, similar to the Honor 5X. It measures 150.9 x 72.6 × 8.2mm and weighs 162g. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / micro SD) support. It is backed by a 3340mAh (typical) / 3270mAh (minimum) battery with support for fast charging.
The Honor 6X comes in Gold, Silver, Grey, Blue and Rose Gold color options. It is priced at 999 yuan (approx. Rs. 9,885) for the 3GB RAM / 32GB storage version and 1299 yuan (approx. Rs. 12,850) for the 4GB RAM / 32GB storage version. While the 4GB RAM / 64GB internal storage version costs 1599 yuan (approx. Rs. 15825).
As far as Honor 6X India launch is concerned, the company has not given any official confirmation on the subject. The company recently launched Honor 8 and Holly 3 in an event in India earlier this month that hints they have no imminent plans for Honor 6X launch. If we are to guess, the Huawei will release Honor 6X in India sometimes in late November or early December 2016.
