Halo 5: Guardians was recently rumoured to be in development for the PC, apart from its existing Xbox One version. The rumour came out of a supposed industry insider on NeoGAF, but it seems Microsoft is having none of this. In a statement given to PC Gamer, they have made it clear that they have “no plans to port Halo 5: Guardians to PC”.

Halo 5: Guardians

This isn’t the first time they’ve said this, not by any means. Back in April, Xbox head Phil Spencer said that he would rather not “look back” at Halo 5, and that as Halo is a console experience, porting it to PC “would not make sense”. Developers 343 Industries also confirmed in May that the game is not going to be ported to the PC, even though the game’s Forge tools have made it to Windows 10.

The present rumour about Halo 5 being developed for the PC came from NeoGAF user Enter the Dragon Punch, who claimed to have it on “good authority from multiple sources that Halo 5 will be coming to PC.” It’s hard to say who’s telling the truth here, as Microsoft is notorious for “having no plans” until suddenly, they do have plans.
