Ghost Recon: Wildlands is slated to have the largest open world in Ubisoft’s history, which is certainly quite the feat, considering this is the company that has put out the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry games. YouTube channel Open World Games has put out a video analysing just how huge the map is, as well as what we’re going to see in it. There seems to be a pretty wide variety of environments on display, including salt plains, villages, snow-capped mountains, forests, deserts and more.
There’s a number of airports on the map, which suggest that airplanes will get substantial use in the game (we’ve so far seen choppers), and you can also see the lieutenants of the drug cartel you’ll be going up against, marked across the map. There’s a spot on the map that says “Insertion”, marked with a black skull icon – this might be referring to chopper-based insertions. There’s also a yellow icon in the lower-right quarter that says “MOB”, and likely stands for “Main Operations Base”, which might be the game’s equivalent of the home base in The Division.
Interestingly, there’s also a few blue icons on the maps that Open World Games has no idea about, and neither do we. What do you think they are? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
