Gears of War 4 will use Nvidia Physx for Wind Flares

Creative Director Chuck Osieja was very excited over the prospect of the upcoming Gears of War 4 using the latest Nvidia tech to create dynamic wind flares.

“One of our big features with the game is wind flares, which are basically giant wind storms that can happen at any time during the game, and obviously PhysX helps us realize that inside the game. Typically those things are scripted, but with PhysX and NVIDIA’s technology we can make those systems that we can have anywhere in the game.”

The wind flares would force players to adapt and force them in or out of cover. As a result, players will have to be more vigilant.

In another interview, creative director Osieja teased of a surprise right at the end of the game’s campaign. Osieja has confirmed that the Gears of War 4 campaign will be ten hours long. Also, the multiplayer and horde modes will add replayability to the game.

This will be the second Gears game to be released for the PC since Gears of War 1. As such all eyes will be on The Coalition to see whether they can deliver a quality Gears game. We also expect Gears of War 4 to be well-optimized for PC unlike Microsoft Studio’s other published game, Quantum Break. For more on Gears of War 4 updates and news, stay tuned to MobiPicker.
