Set a decade after the events of The Longest Journey, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey centers at the character of Zoe. It takes you to a parallel universe of two interconnecting worlds named as Stark and Arcadia. The Stark is a Technologically advanced world and the Arcadia is home to all the fantastical magic. Players will have to act as Zoe who investigates the disappearance of her boyfriend. A lot of other mysterious occurrences and unexplained events are also added in the game.

These events take the players to the previous game’s character of April who helps Zoe in her quest. Players have the ability to control all three characters as well. This helps solve the puzzles and mysteries a bit more efficiently. The choice-based play still exists in the game and the cutscene feature makes it even more interesting. The game is an exploration-based marvel that offers a true feel of Life is Strange if we look at it from the atmospheric perspective. It’s a free-to-play First-person experience of adventure and exploration. With an exceptional art and beautiful design, Dear Esther features no puzzles and tasks for the players. The only objective is to explore and enjoy journeying in a beautiful world. The players are to act as a girl named Esther who finds herself on a Hebridean Island. She acts as a voice of her husband reads words from letters. Esther is a dead girl, who loses her life in a car accident.

The letters are a source of information about her mysterious death and the events that took place after that. The game offers a minimal play time, but the overall feel and a good story make it worthy of a really great Adventure title. With a seemingly simple yet exciting gameplay, a well-written story, superb visuals and advanced mechanics, Dear Esther is one of the few titles that truly are worth spending the time on.
